India’s leading tyre manufacturers Apollo Tyres have further strengthened their portfolio in India. The company recently announced the launch of their premium tyre brand “Vredestein” for the first time in India. Apollo acquired this brand almost a decade ago and has been selling this in Europe successfully.
It is learnt that the Vredestein tyres are going to be made in India at Apollo’s state-of-the-art facilities. These tyres are aimed to cater to India’s luxury and premium car segments. For two-wheelers, Vredestein tyres will cater the growing superbike segment in the country.
At present, the Vredestein brand will offer 15 inches and 20 inches tyres in the passenger vehicle segment. Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tyre will cater to premium luxury sedans including Audi, Land Rover, Volvo, Mercedes and BMW. On the other hand, Vredestein Ultrac will cater to premium hatchbacks including Baleno, Ciaz and City.
For two-wheelers, the Vredestein brand will be offering Centauro NS and ST for the likes of sports range bikes including Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, Ducati, BMW, Honda and Aprilia.
Expressing his views on the development was Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Apollo Tyres Ltd. He said, off late India has seen a massive surge in the luxury cars as well as superbike segments. This has made the company introduce the Vredestein tyre brand to Indian customers. He further added, for years, the Vredestein tyre brand has been well known for its ultra-high performance and premium styling. These are the top two sought after factors for every premium car and superbike owner. He also expressed his confidence in Vredestein and was hopeful that it will soon become a big player in the Indian luxury vehicle segment.
Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres Ltd was of the view that the launch of the Vredestein brand in India will fortify their position in the Indian market. He also shared the fact that the recent restrictions on the import of tyres imposed by the Government of India made the case for the introduction of Vredestein in India possible. According to Mr Sharma, Apollo’s R&D teams have customised these tyres to best suit the Indian conditions and offer an excellent driving experience to drivers.
