The renowned research organization ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) marked its esteemed presence at the lately concluded Tyrexpo India 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Located at Stall # D38, ARAI displayed many informative posters and banners related to its research and development projects, how it’s striving to match the Indian automotive standards to global criterions, what measures it has taken for the environmental protection and its plans for National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020 (NEMMP 2020). The visitors at the stall were explained about the benefits of fuel efficiency, energy conservation and essentials for a better ecological system.
Every fuel efficiency freak in the country knows ARAI as an organisation that certifies the fuel mileage of a vehicle under standard conditions. However, ARAI is much more than that. Since 1966, the ARAI has been playing an instrumental role in ensuring safe, less polluting and more efficient vehicles in the country. The organisation with state-of-the-art testing facilities furnishes technical expertise in the R&D, testing (tyre testing and vehicle testing), certification, homologation and framing of vehicle regulations. The association also provides its services to various other government organisations such as Indian Standard Institute (ISI) and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). ARAI possesses various well-equipped test facilities and laboratories spread across 260 acres of land in western Pune with state-of-the-art infrastructural amenities alongside highly qualified workforce.
ARAI, which celebrated 50 years of automotive excellence in the year 2016, provides certifications to all two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, with engine capacity of over 25cc using petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG as fuel, moreover, the electric vehicles with a power of 250W and a maximum speed of 25 kmph. In addition to vehicle certifications, it also certifies various powertrains, safety components, Gensets, agricultural equipments, construction and industrial equipments etc. It also bestows other services, for instance, R&D services, Testing & Calibration services, Standard Formulation, Education & Training, E-Services like Homologation & Regulations, Forging Industry Division.
