Maruti Omni aka Maruti Van is the second car launched in India after the 800 by the country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki. Launched back in 1984, this first Indian MPV has been the heartthrob of generations for years. With the time, the car has undergone several changes, although its present looks fail to match with the ultra-modern cars currently sold in the domestic auto market. It is currently sold in five-seater, eight-seater, cargo and ambulance trims.

The exterior of Maruti Omni craves for a new look and hardly has styling elements to impress the youth. The boxy exterior continues with the decade-old features like rectangular head lights, front & rear black bumpers, sliding doors etc.
Inside, the car has a seating arrangement for either five or eight occupants, and space is definitely a shortage. The eight-seater Omni also has a major drawback of luggage storage due to the addition of the 3rd row at the rear. You will find basic features in the car like a cup holder, glove-box, space for other utility items, dual-tone upholstery, reclining seats, adjustable front seat headrests, sliding driver’s seat, steering lock etc.
Under the hood, the car gets a 796cc petrol mill coupled to a four-speed manual transmission. As the engine is placed under the front seats, the power is supplied to the rear wheels to run the car. The 0.8L petrol engine of the Omni MPV generates maximum power of 34 bhp at 5000 rpm and 59 Nm at 2500 rpm. As far as the fuel efficiency is concerned, the Omni returns ARAI certified mileage of 16.8 kmpl.
At present, the company is selling Maruti Omni in the price bracket of Rs. 2.64 – 2.97 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).

My car maruti omni always under heavy load …. Which tyre should I use in this condition???

The tyre size for Maruti Suzuki Omni is 145/80 R 12 with a general load index of 74 which means each tire can bare a maximum load of 375 kgs so with 4 tyres the load baring capability is 1500kgs. But if you are looking for something that can handle a bit more load then JK tyres Ultima XPC with 75 load index will increase the Load bearing capability to 1548kgs or MRF ZCT LT with total load of 1700 kgs.
