What made Punch possible?
Speaking on the occasion was Rajan Amba, Tata Motors PVBU Vice-President (Sales, Marketing & Customer Care), he told the press that in the recent past the company has realised that owning an SUV is not just a matter of size and space but also an attitude and expression. Tata Motors’ Punch is designed exactly keeping this in mind for people who look to get extra from the small SUVs.
He further added, that today’s customers are more demanding and they don’t just go for looks and style but also look for superlative drive experience and class-leading safety. At Tata Motors, we had all these things in mind before designing a car that can meet all these specifications without compromising on the quality of the product. The result is Tata Punch: a versatile, rugged and youthful compact SUV meeting all the needs of the customers in the segment.
The Technology Behind Tata Punch
As per the company’s updates, the model of this SUV is built on Tata’s Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) architecture. The car is developed by the collaboration of Tata Motors Design Studios based in Italy, the UK and India.
Speaking on the technology used in the creation of Tata Punch, Anand Kulkarni, Tata Motors Vice President (Product Line Head, ALFA Architecture and Passenger Electric Vehicles) told about the ALFA’s capabilities. He said that ALFA architecture has the quality of delivering different body styles with outstanding built quality, offering unmatched safety credentials. The massive success of Tata Altroz is proof of these capabilities.
Tata Punch is the first SUV offering based on ALFA architecture and has all the major capabilities that one expects from a complete SUV. Mr Kulkarni also gave a hint of Tata creating an electronic version of the Punch if the demand arises in future.
