The ultra-luxury car from the ultra luxury car maker is said to be the last word in the bespoke luxury car making. Rolls-Royce Sweptail is a rare amalgamation of hand-crafted luxury and modern automotive technology, and is quite ‘different’ from usual assembly-line built Rollers. Besides its cautiously crafted ultra-fabulous inside-out, the not just another custom Rolls-Royce car is reported to boast a whopping price label of about INR 84 Cr. ($12.8 million) making it the most expensive car ever sold worldwide.
The idea of this uber-fascination was first shared in the year 2013 by an esteemed client of Rolls-Royce. The ultra-premium car company has described the client of this incredibly luxurious Sweptail as a “connoisseur and collector of distinctive, one-off items including super-yachts and private aircraft.” The out of this world car took almost four valuable years in the making by the UK-based luxury car brand. The Sweptail carries inspiration from coach-built two-seater Rolls-Royces from the 1920s and 1930s.
On the exteriors, the ultimate two-door car witnesses the largest signature grille on any RR car, which is crafted using a single piece of aluminium. The side and rear profile are inspired by iconic ancestors such as 1925 Phantom I Round Door, 1934 Phantom II Streamline Saloon, 1934 Gurney Nutting Phantom II Two Door Light Saloon and Park Ward 20/25 Limousine Coupe. Moreover, the inspiration of the design at the rear is derived from luxury racing yachts, which includes an attention-grabbing panoramic roof. The grand coupe even gets a unique registration number in the form of – 08 -, which is created using the ingots of aluminium and is also hand polished.
The bespoke motor car interior is kept classical and contemporary, featuring a huge amount of polished Macassar Ebony and open-pore Paldao. The seats, armrests and dashboard are endowed with light Moccasin and Dark Spice leather. In place of rear seats, the Rolls-Royce Sweptail Coupe features a vast area of wood creating a mid-shelf with an illuminated glass lip.
What’s more, as the world first, there is a handmade Rolls-Royce clock made with the thinnest Macassar veneer and titanium hands alongside there are matching handmade panniers. Going a step further, Rolls-Royce has also developed a full set of bespoke luggage for the elegant coupe.
